Short begins by outlining historical outcomes and recent innovations in the treatment of adult ALL, before providing an overview of the factors that determine frontline treatment decisions. After contrasting canonical chemotherapy regimens between age groups, Short discusses hyper-CVAD and the impact of implementing inotuzumab ozogamicin and blinatumomab in frontline therapy, using real-world survival data. Finally, Short discusses first-line treatment options for Philadelphia-chromosome-positive ALL and the role of stem cell transplants in newly diagnosed ALL.
